Audition Information

Auditions will be held Wednesday, September 10 from 6-9pm and callbacks, if necessary, Thursday, September 11 from 7-9pm.

Auditions will be held at Club One, 1 Jefferson St. (corner of Bay), Downtown Savannah.

Auditions are open call but all auditionees are encouraged to fill out the casting interest form at the bottom of this page.

All auditionees will be required to read a monologue, sing a song, and learn/perform a short dance routine.  Accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities.

Sides, sheet music, and backing tracks for each character are below.

NOTE: due to time constraints you may not be able to read/sing for every role you in which you are interested.  We suggest having your Top 2 choices ready to go and if time allows we can let auditionees do more if you have prepared more.

If you’re not familiar with the songs, please listen to the cast album (note that the music featured in our production and auditions may vary).

Interested in a crew position?  Please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

Characters/Casting

The Bay Street Theatre supports diversity and inclusion in all of our productions.  All roles are open to all ages 18 and over, race, gender, gender identity, body type, and persons with disabilities but must be willing to present as the character respresentation indicated.

Please note “The Rocky Horror Show Live” contains sexual themes and situations and while there is no nudity, all roles require revealing and/or minimal costuming.  Intimacy coordination will be included in the rehearsal process to ensure all participants are comfortable with the blocking, choreography, staging, and costuming.

Frank N. Furter

Master of the castle. Welcomes Janet and Brad with open arms. Frank is a Mad Scientist bent on creating the “perfect man,” and he succeeds in doing so by creating Rocky. He’s something of an antagonist, causing all sorts of trouble for Brad and Janet. In the end, he’s killed by Riff Raff.

Brad Majors

Quirky and overly optimistic at times. An All-American man who proposes to his girlfriend Janet Weiss. However, on the way to meet his old friend and science teacher, Dr. Scott, his car gets a flat tire. He soon finds himself at the mercy of Dr. Frank-N-Furter and his servants. Happenings in the castle cause him confusion which have him questioning his own sexuality.

Janet Weiss

Good, innocent girl who is madly in love with Brad. Always seems to be frightened of something. Emotionally weak. She’s confused about what has occurred with her encounter with Frank-N-Furter and Rocky, but realizes the benefits of living an… active life.

Rocky

Frank’s beloved creation, Rocky, is supposed to be the “perfect man.” However, things don’t go well when Janet falls for him causing Frank to go into a jealous rage. In the end, he’s killed by Riff Raff while mourning the loss of Frank and trying to escape.

Riff Raff

Frank’s personal butler, Riff Raff is a shady character who seems to be up to something. In the end, he kills Frank, Rocky, and Columbia before he and his sister Magenta return to their home planet of Transsexual, Transylvania.

Magenta

Magenta is a domestic from the planet Transsexual, in the galaxy Transylvania. Her job is simple, keep the castle clean, prep are all meals, wait on Frank hand and foot, and cater to his every whim. Magenta is fond of her brother Riff Raff, and can be seen laughing at the other’s misery. She is close friends with Columbia. Magenta is not afraid to put her foot down to get her point across, and will be pushy or rude to get what she wants.

Columbia

One of Frank’s servants. A groupie who is both Frank’s and Eddie’s ex-girlfriend. She starts as being extremely loyal to Frank. Though, she quickly realizes that he’s simply using her and turns on him. In the end, she’s killed by Riff Raff. Tap Dancing skills are an asset.

Eddie

A former delivery boy who was Columbia’s ex-boyfriend. Half of his brain was used to create Rocky. After escaping from the freezer (and singing a song), Eddie is promptly killed by Frank

Dr. Scott

Dr. Scott is Brad’s wheelchair bound former science teacher and close friend. He ends up at the castle while looking for his nephew, Eddie.

Narrator

Follows our two heroes through the story by narrating directly to the audience.

  • Presentation: Open
